Registration & fees
How enrollment works for the 13th round and the summer intake, what it costs to reserve a seat and what we need from you.
How do I register for a course at Mizan Institute of Technology?
Registration for the 13th round and the summer intake is open now. Apply online through our admissions page in four steps: enter your details, choose your course and schedule, upload your documents and payment receipt, then receive your student account. You can also register in person at our campus in Bethel, Apple Plaza, 7th Floor, Addis Ababa, or message us on Telegram at @MizanInstituteOfTechnologyEthio.
How much is the registration fee and what does it cover?
The registration fee is 500 ETB. It is a one-time fee paid separately from tuition, and it confirms your seat in the round, creates your student account and activates your access to the learning platform once your documents are reviewed.
What documents do I need to register?
You upload a recent photo, your national or Kebele ID, your academic profile and the receipt for your registration payment. Our admissions and finance teams review the documents, and once they are approved your student account is activated.
How are my uploaded documents and personal data protected?
Documents are uploaded over a secure connection and stored privately. Only the admissions and finance staff who process your enrollment can review them — they are never published, shared with third parties or used for anything beyond verifying your registration. See our privacy policy for the full details.
Are there prerequisites for the courses?
Most of our programs, including Full Stack web development and Python, start from the fundamentals and are open to complete beginners. Where a course expects prior knowledge — for example AI and machine learning benefits from basic programming — the requirement is listed on the course page. If you are unsure which course fits your background, call us and an advisor will help you choose.
Attendance & schedules
In-person regular, extension, weekend and online live classes — pick the rhythm that fits your week and switch when life changes.
What class schedules are available?
We run four delivery modes so you can train around work, school or family. In-person regular — Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Morning 9:00am–11:00am or afternoon 1:30pm–3:30pm. In-person extension — Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. 5:00pm–7:00pm. In-person weekend — Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am–12:00pm or 1:30pm–4:30pm. Online live plus recorded — Mostly evening 8:30pm–10:30pm; some courses use 4:30pm–6:30pm instead.
Can I switch between in-person and online, or change my schedule?
Yes. Transfer between in-person regular, extension, weekend and online modes is flexible. Talk to the registrar before the next monthly part starts and we will move you to a section that fits — your progress, evaluations and LMS access carry over with you.
What happens if I miss a session?
Online classes are live and every session is recorded, so you can replay the lesson in the LMS, recap missed points and continue studying after class. If you study in person, tell your instructor in advance when you cannot attend — they will point you to the notes, references and exercises for that session so you stay on track.
What is the attendance policy?
Regular attendance matters because the training is project-based and each session builds on the last. Notify your instructor ahead of any absence. Excessive unexcused absences can affect your monthly evaluation results and, in turn, your eligibility to complete the course and receive a certificate.
How long do the courses take?
Duration depends on the course and the mode. Full Stack (MERN) web development, for example, runs 6 months in person or 9 months online, while shorter programs like Python or digital marketing finish faster. Every course page lists the exact in-person and online duration alongside the tuition.
LMS & course access
Your student account on our learning platform holds the videos, notes, references and recordings for every part of your course.
How do I access my course materials?
After your registration is approved you receive a student account on our learning management system. Inside it you will find your course videos, lecture notes, references, assignments and the recordings of live online sessions — all included with your tuition at no extra charge.
Why is next month's content locked in the LMS?
Courses are structured into monthly parts. Each new part unlocks after you pass the evaluation for the current part and your payment for the next month is confirmed. This keeps the cohort moving together, makes sure the fundamentals are solid before you advance, and lets you pay month by month instead of all at once.
Can I download the course materials?
Notes, references and assignment files can be downloaded for offline study. Lesson videos and class recordings are streamed inside the LMS to protect the content, and they remain available for you to rewatch as often as you need during your course.
I can't log into my student account. What should I do?
First use the password reset option on the login page. If you still cannot get in, contact support — call 0987 14 3030 or 0989 26 3030, email contact@mizantechinstitute.com or message @MizanInstituteOfTechnologyEthio on Telegram with your full name and registered phone number, and we will restore your access.
Payments & discounts
Pay tuition month by month as you progress, and stack the discount that matches your situation.
How does monthly payment work?
Tuition is split across the monthly parts of your course, so you pay for one part at a time rather than the whole program up front. You settle each month's payment, upload or present the receipt, and the next part of the course unlocks in the LMS once finance confirms it. Paying the full tuition at once is also possible and earns a discount on longer courses.
What discounts are available?
We offer several published discounts. 10% full payment discount: Available for courses longer than three months when tuition is paid in full. 7% multi-course discount: Available when one student registers for two or three courses. 10% university entrance support: Special support for students who did not pass university entrance and are not eligible for remedial placement. Family full-stack offer: For online Full Stack enrollment, one eligible family member can receive tuition waived under the family offer. 5% family group discount: Available when more than three family members enroll together. 10% group discount: Available for group registrations with more than ten members. Discounts are applied at registration — mention the one that applies to you and our team will confirm it.
How much do tutorial classes cost?
Tutorial support runs from Grade 1 through university with grade-level monthly rates: Grades 1-3 at 100 ETB, Grades 4-5 at 150 ETB, Grade 6 at 200 ETB, Grade 7 at 200 ETB, Grade 8 at 250 ETB, Grades 9-11 at 300 ETB, Grade 12 at 400 ETB, College at 600 ETB, University at 800 ETB. Family and group packages are available, and the summer program uses the same transparent pricing.
What should I do if my payment isn't confirmed?
If you have paid but your next monthly part has not unlocked, double-check that your receipt was uploaded clearly with your full name and course visible, then contact finance on 0112 73 99 73 or via Telegram. Confirmations are usually quick once the receipt is matched to your account.
Certificates & verification
Finish the work, pass the evaluations, and walk away with a certificate anyone can verify in seconds.
Do I receive a certificate when I finish?
Yes. Students who attend the course, pass the monthly evaluations and complete the required projects receive an official Mizan Institute of Technology certificate. Because the training is project-based, you also finish with a portfolio of real work to show alongside it.
How does QR certificate verification work?
Every certificate we issue carries a unique QR code and certificate ID. Scanning the QR code, or entering the ID on our verification page at /verify, instantly shows the holder's name, course and completion details straight from our records — so a certificate can be checked in seconds without contacting us.
Can employers or universities verify my certificate?
Yes. The verification page is public, so any employer, university or institution can scan the QR code on your certificate or enter its ID at /verify to confirm it is genuine. No account or payment is needed to verify.
Services & programs
Beyond the course catalog: summer programs, tutorials, career support and technology services for organizations.
What does Mizan Institute of Technology offer beyond courses?
Alongside professional training we provide practical technology solutions for organizations — websites, software support, digital marketing and design — plus tutorial services from Grade 1 through university, language courses in English, Arabic and French, and customized training paths for schools, companies, families and teams.
What is included in the summer program?
Summer registration is open together with the 13th round. The program covers basic computer skills, tutorial services from grade 1 through university, english, arabic and french language courses, programming for kids, flexible family and group packages — designed so students return to the next academic year ahead, not just rested.
Does MiT help with jobs and internships?
Yes. Career support is part of the program: job placement support, internship connections, direct employment pathways for strong graduates and startup support for students who want to build their own product. The portfolio projects you complete during training are central to that process.
