Since October 2024, Mizan Institute of Technology has partnered with Dashen Bank to help students learn technology now and spread tuition payments through Dashen Pay — so cost is less of a barrier to starting.
How it works
Example: a course with a 4,000 ETB monthly tuition fee over 3 months means 12,000 ETB total to complete the program at MiT.
You can:
1. Pay the full course amount at any Dashen Bank branch with a guarantor who is a government employee, bank employee, Ethio Telecom staff, or Ethiopian Airlines staff; or 2. If your employer pays your salary through Dashen Bank, you may not need a guarantor.
Instead of paying Mizan the full amount within the 3-month course window, Dashen lets you repay over 6 or 12 months in monthly installments.
Service fee (not interest)
Dashen adds a service fee (not bank interest) based on the repayment period:

Worked example (12,000 ETB course, 12-month plan):
- Base monthly share: 1,000 ETB
- 8% service fee on 12,000 ETB = 960 ETB over the year → about 80 ETB/month
- Approximate monthly payment: 1,080 ETB for 12 months
- Total repaid to Dashen: 12,960 ETB (960 ETB service fee for the year)
Your first installment to Dashen typically starts about one month after the financing service is set up.
